I didn’t choose the name A.S. Thorne by accident.
It’s not just a pen name – it’s a quiet place. A whispered agreement between every version of myself that never got to speak, and the one finally learning how.
The initials stand for Another Self.
Not because I’m hiding – but because I’m healing.
Because writing for me has always been a kind of mirror. Sometimes cracked. Sometimes kinder than I expected. Sometimes so sharp it draws blood.
The Mirror Between Us is the first book I plan to share with the world. The journey that shaped it started long before I ever wrote page one. Before the characters had names. Before the mirrors whispered back. Before I let myself believe my writing mattered. Before I let myself believe that I mattered.
This space – this blog, this website, this voice – exists for the fractured stories. The ones we don’t always say out loud. The ones we tuck behind polished smiles or tight paragraphs. The ones that come out in metaphor because they’re too heavy in plain speech.
If you’re here, maybe you’ve carried those too.
Maybe you’ve been broken open by loss, or grief, or silence.
Maybe you’re still trying to name what hurt you.
Maybe you’re still here anyway.
If so, welcome.
This is a place for you. For your echoes. For your truths.
Here, we tell stories, not because they’re easy but because they matter.
Here, fantasy is a way in – not an escape, but a doorway.
Here, we believe in mirrors that remember, and girls who choose to stay.
So thank you for being part of this journey.
For every self you’ve buried – and the one still fighting to rise.
-A.S. Thorne
